recommend 의 올바른 사용 방법

회화를 하다 보면 recommend(추천하다)를 많이 사용하게 된다. 그런데 말이 내 맘 데로 나가다 보니 이를 정리해 봐야겠다는 생각이 들었다. 예를 들어 I recommend that you should watch this movie. 도 괜찮게 들리지만, 실제 사용은 간결하게 I recommend you watch this movie 로 쓴다. 또 I recemmend you to watch this movie.도 될 것 같지만 이렇게는 안 쓰여서 recommend의 올바른 사용법을 정리해 보기로 했다. 

 

 

1. recommend로 만든 문장 예시

 

1) I recommend (that) you watch this movie. 나는 네가 이 영화를 보는 것을 추천한다.

2) I recommend you watch this movie. 나는 네가 이 영화를 보는 것을 추천한다

3) I recommend this movie to you. 나는 이 영화를 네게 추천한다.

4) I recommend watching this movie. 나는 이 영화를 보는 것을 추천한다.

 

2. recommend 사용 방법

위에서 보는 바와 같이

 

1) 주어 + recommend (that) 주어 + 동사원형~~~

2) 주어 + recommend  주어 + 동사원형~~~

3) 주어 + recommend  명사 ~

2) 주어 + recommend  동명사~~~~

 

3. 내가 많이 쓰는 recommend 예시

 

1) One of my friends recommended that I try studying on Ringle.

 : 내 친구 중 한 명이 나에게 Ringle에서 공부해보라고 추천했다.

2) One of my friends recommended I try studying on Ringle.

  : 내 친구 중 한 명이 나에게 Ringle에서 공부해보라고 추천했다.

3) One of my friends recommended trying studying on Ringle.

 : 내 친구 중 한 명이 Ringle에서 공부를 해보는 것을 추천했다.

4) One of my friends recommended Ringle to me.

 : 내 친구 중 한 명이 나에게 Ringle을 추천했다

 

4. 현지에서 쓰이는 recommend 예시

 

1) One of my colleagues recommended that I try using Google Drive for file sharing.

: 나의 동료 중 한 명이 파일 공유를 위해 Google Drive를 사용해 보라고 추천했다.

2) One of my neighbors recommended I try using Google Drive for file sharing.

: 나의 동료 중 한 명이 파일 공유를 위해 Google Drive를 사용해 보라고 추천했다.

3) One of my classmates recommended trying to use Google Drive for file sharing.
: 나의 동급생 중 한 명이 파일 공유를 위해 Google Drive를 사용해 보는 것을 추천했다.

4) One of my coworkers recommended Google Drive to me.

: 나의 동료 중 한 명이 나에게 Google Drive를 추천했다.

이제 recommend로 무슨 문장이 나오든 올바르게 사용할 수 있겠다.
