not only A~ but also B ( 도치 )

A. not only A ~ but also B의 특징

       ( A뿐만이 아니라 B도)

. A와 B는 항상 대등한 관계이다. 즉 A가 명사이면 B도 명사, A가. to부정사이면 B도 to부정사

 

 

 

1. A와 B가 문장인 경우

• Not only did she win the race, but also she broke the record. (그녀는 경주에서 우승했을 뿐만 아니라 기록도 깼습니다.)
• Not only does he speak fluent English, but also he is proficient in French. 해석: 그는 유창한 영어를 구사할 뿐만 아니라 프랑스어도 능숙하게 구사합니다.

 

* 문장이 올 경우 Not only 뒤에 A문장은 꼭!!!! 도치시킨다.

  : 여러가지 문장을 도치시켜 보자(의문문으로 만들면 도치시킨 거다)

1) I am a boy.-> am I a boy

2) He plays the piano.-> does he play the piano

3) He can play the piano.-> can he play the piano

 

 

2. A와 B가 명사인 경우

• They provide not only excellent customer service but also high-quality products. 해석: 그들은 훌륭한 고객 서비스뿐만 아니라 고품질 제품도 제공합니다.
• The new restaurant offers not only delicious food but also a cozy atmosphere. 해석: 이 새로운 음식점은 맛있는 음식뿐만 아니라 아늑한 분위기도 제공합니다.

 

3. A와 B가 전치사구인 경우

• The conference focused not only on technology trends but also on future innovations. 해석: 그 회의는 기술 트렌드뿐만 아니라 미래 혁신에도 초점을 맞췄습니다.
• This book not only entertains readers but also provides valuable life lessons. 해석: 이 책은 독자를 즐겁게 하기만 하는 것이 아니라 소중한 삶의 교훈도 제공합니다.

 

4. A와 B가 to부정사인 경우

• The project aims not only to increase efficiency but also to reduce costs. 해석: 이 프로젝트는 효율성을 높이기만 하는 것이 아니라 비용을 줄이는 것도 목표로 합니다.
